Principles
  1. What is collected

The tools collect nothing about you. They have no account and no telemetry, and each one does its work on your Mac.

Each app keeps a few things on your Mac. The licence key is one: the app checks the signature the key carries against a public key compiled into the app, once, at first launch, and nothing goes online to do that. It then saves the key in macOS preferences, so the app does not ask for it again on that Mac, and its own settings sit beside it, along with the permission macOS gives it to reopen a folder you chose. Onionskin and Screener keep a record of the copies they made, naming the recipient and the file each came from, and Onionskin keeps it only while its record switch is on. Font Locker keeps its catalogue and a copy of each document you attach to it. Floor Prints keeps backups of each project, and Split Page keeps an autosaved copy of any script you have open along with the templates you save. All of it sits in your own Library folder, and you can delete it whenever you like.

Each app bought here asks oddlots.shop once a day whether a newer version exists, and whenever you choose Check for Updates in its Help menu. A switch in its Settings turns the daily check off. The request names neither you nor the version you have, though like anything that goes online it shows the site the internet address it came from. If there is one, nothing is downloaded until you choose to install it.

The shop is a different thing. If you hand over an email address it goes on a list, and that list has one use: telling you when something is fixed, when something new exists, or when something is wrong with a thing you bought. Payhip holds the list and sends the messages, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone. To leave, write to support@oddlots.shop and you will be taken off.

Beyond that, this site has no accounts, and its pages set no cookies and load no analytics. Checkout happens on Payhip, under Payhip's own privacy policy and terms.

  2. Pay once

You pay for a tool once. Nothing renews, and no part of it is held back for a higher tier. Updates to the app are free forever.

  3. The tools run locally

The tools need no cloud and no sign-in. Your licence is checked on your Mac, so a tool you bought keeps working whether or not this site does. Where you keep your own files is up to you.

Terms

Warranty

Every tool sold here is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Oddlots does not guarantee that a tool will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. You use it at your own risk.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oddlots' total liability for any claim arising from your use of a tool is limited to the amount you paid to purchase it. Oddlots is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data, lost profits, or project delays, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Refunds

Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase if a tool doesn't work as described. Write to support@oddlots.shop and it will be handled. After 14 days, sales are final.

Your data

On your own Mac each app writes its settings and your licence key into macOS preferences, and several keep working files in your Library folder, which the first principle above lists. Onionskin and Screener also keep a record of the copies they made, in your Application Support folder. All of it is yours to delete. Payment is handled by Payhip and Stripe, under their own privacy policies and terms. If you joined the email list, Payhip keeps your address for us and sends the messages. A problem report reaches the support inbox as an email and is used only to answer it and to fix what it reports; the report page itself keeps no copy. The daily update check reaches our web host as a request for one file, and the first principle above says what it carries. This site's pages set no cookies and load no analytics.

Onionskin

Onionskin embeds a mark in your script to help you identify the source if a copy leaks. It is a deterrent and a tracing aid, not a security guarantee. It does not prevent a document from being copied, forwarded, screenshotted, or otherwise leaked, and a sufficiently motivated person may be able to remove or obscure the mark. Use it alongside the ordinary precautions you would already take with a script you don't want circulating.

All processing happens on your machine, and the app sends neither your script nor the record of who received it to Oddlots.

Screener

Screener burns a mark into the picture of a video so you can identify the source if a copy leaks. It is a deterrent and a tracing aid, not a security guarantee. It does not prevent a video from being copied, forwarded, re-recorded off a screen, or otherwise leaked, and a sufficiently motivated person may be able to obscure or remove the mark. A marked copy is an ordinary video file, with no encryption on it and no password needed to open it. Use it alongside the ordinary precautions you would already take with a cut you don't want circulating.

All processing happens on your machine, and the app sends neither your video nor the record of who received it to Oddlots.
